summer bucket list addition

When I first compiled our 2012 summer bucket list I never dreamed we would be looking at 6 weeks {minimum} with one of our children in a cast.
Hence all the outside "stuff" we have planned.
And now, *sigh* we have to tweak & add new activities that all of them will be able to participate in.
I won't lie, the last few days have been interesting to say the least but now that the initial pain is starting to subside we are slowly learning what her limits are.
I'm convinced I'm babying her more than I should be.
She's tough...and feisty.
Already she is pulling herself up onto the arm rests so she can get into drawers.
The next few weeks will be anything but boring!

21. Decorate pavement with sidewalk chalk

Giggles was delighted early this afternoon when her big sister "snuck" her outside for a little sunshine and much needed fresh air.
What a blessing a box of sidewalk chalk can be.
So, add that to our bucket list!
{now we just have to figure out how to keep the baby from eating it}

Giggles needed out of her wheelchair { not that I blame her}
She handled one day of tv propped up with pillows on the couch and was done.
One day of crafts and already she has been begging us to take her outside.
Which is sad since she only got her wheelchair late Friday afternoon.
This could be an interesting summer...But, I refuse to let a little broken leg slow us down.
Life is too short to live it on the sidelines and when your 5 six weeks can feel like an eternity.
This I know for certain.
The summer of 2012 will go down in our books as a memorable one.
What about yours?
Are you doing the things you want to do this summer?

  1. Poor little cookie! She looks like she enjoyed sidewalk chalk though!

    Our summer is going to be simply enjoying the lovely city we have moved to.
