During the school year we are quite an active family.
There are days when I feel like all I do is chauffeur children from one activity to the next. With soccer, dance and youth group I feel like I have connected more with my van's upholstery than my children.
When the final school bell of the year rings I am more than ready for a break.
From all of it.
A chance to step back from the busyness.
I want to hide the keys to the van and get out on my bike.
Which is almost comical now.
Give me a few months time I am going to actually crave the busyness and start planning and shifting our day around it.
{I guess we are strange that way}
But for now.
Because if anything having a child with a broken leg forces you to live in the now.
I'm looking forward to sun-kissed bodies, picnics and family excursions.
I want to use this time to reconnect with those sweet little faces of the children I adore so much.
This summer we will have plenty of time to do just that.
I am loving the lazy days of summer!
