So, now what? {day one in the cast}

Summer has taken a much different spin for our little family.
Instead of swimming lessons and trips to the driving range I am going to have to tweak our summer bucket list for activities that are "cast friendly".
{look for that in the coming days}
Now that we are home and starting to settle into somewhat of a routine we are experiencing challenges that I'm not really equipped for.

Which is frustrating.

We have what other countries would call "excellent" health care.
And for the most part I would agree.
We weren't handed a $20,000 bill for her cast for our trip to the hospital.
I can take my children in for their immunizations or to the doctors and after we are seen we go home and all the fees are covered.

But, is is ridiculous.

We we're sent home and told "keep her leg dry and elevated and get her re-checked in 10 days by the orthopedic surgeon. Make sure to give her medicine as needed for pain"
So, now what?
How can I give her a bath and scrub her golden locks?
What's the safest way to place her in her bed?
How can we transport her if she can't bend her knee?
*sigh*
I was on the phone most of the afternoon trying to arrange for a pediatric wheel chair so we aren't stuck in the house all summer.
She did have 15 minutes out in the sunshine with a Popsicle and then it started to rain.
The fun never stops!!
