Vacation blunders

(Packing for our trip)

Who ever said getting there was half the fun has not met me.
I learned a valuable truth Friday morning about myself.
Vacations stress me out.
Stress me out!!
Normally I pack the night before so it's a quick tidy around the house and then we are off.
Not this time.
After a week stay-cation we weren't planning on leaving until Friday afternoon meaning I had to:
*pack
That's it.
Just pack.
But Instead I ended up cleaning the entire house because my parents were planning on staying there while we are gone.
I guess on a positive note we left with a sparkling clean house but I almost ate my children as they frustrated me just that much.
Leaving my five year old to her own packing skills it was a darn good thing I checked or she would be rocking her swimsuit and some shorts.
For the next ten days.
In true us fashion we left an hour and forty five minutes later than we wanted.
Because of how far our destination was from home we broke up our trip up into two days and made a pit stop at my parents house.
{who served us coffee stashed in the freezer with an expiry date of dec.2005}

We checked off one of my summer bucket list items and headed to the calgary zoo!
And saw some crazy signs prompting us to find the gorillas which we never did find.

This morning we headed off for our family vacation nestled in the mountains in fairmont bc. {another one checked off the Bucket list!}
The baby threw up not once but twice in the van on the way here.
Plus a horsefly took a bite out of me while I scrubbed.
The outside pool was closed early but we plan on visiting that in the morning.
The view is great where we are and I'm in the process of compiling our vacation bucket list so watch for that post soon.
Until then I'm going to enjoy storm watching with nifty nunu

It could be an interesting night. We have already heard the thunder once to which daddy told punky "that's what happens when your bad"
Bahah!!
