Nifty nunu and myself took in one on Monday night.
We sampled 14 different kinds of chocolate while learning how chocolate came to be & the entire process from plant to plate.
I reaffirmed my hate for white chocolate and we bravely sampled Chili chocolate among others including a piece from a 100 year old tree that I have declared my favorite. I joked with jiffy nunu while we sampled the chili chocolate
"guess we will see if this bites back "
Yep, it does but I will get to that.
Remember when I said I was accidentally fed hazelnut?
We had three tasting rounds where we sampled two pieces of four different kinds of chocolate. With the start of each round I would ask if there was hazelnuts and the first round I missed one type of chocolate. The second round was safe and the third round she missed a piece and I ingested two pieces with hazelnuts.
Thankfully I tossed in some allergy medication "just in case" because I had a itchy scratchy throat about 20 min after sampling.
Hard to sleep when your in the mountains worrying about breathing issues and like the fool I am I didn't mention any of it to big daddy so he wouldn't worry.
Tuesday the middle two went took in a half day lil'chefs camp where they made chefs hats and baked "witches fart cookies" and pizza.
Big daddy and I snuck in a quick 9 holes at a par three.
I'm rocking my golf gear that I got for Christmas.
{ my yearly golf trip }
Remember that chili chocolate I sampled the night before?
It bit back alright and turned my tummy into a hot mess so golfing was a bit more challenging. If a piece the size of a dime could do that much grief I shudder to think of what a full bar would do!
Wednesday we took the kids and found a self guided hiking trail up to the top of the hoodoos we snuck back this morning to the road side where I snapped a quick picture.
{are they not breathtaking or what!}
We checked out panorama followed by an unexpected highway pit stop so we could get the "mom-I-am-going-to-puke" children out of the van and get some much needed fresh air.
We Headed back to our villa where the children quickly recovered enough so we hit the outdoor salt water pool. (they love the pool!)
Nifty nunu took in a yin yoga class to round out the evening.
Today the middle two are at a full day camp and the oldest is heading horseback riding for 1:30.
Big daddy and I are heading to the pro shop to book another round of golf.
Not sure what the rest of the day will bring but I am feeling relaxed and loving our time here but strangely enough I'm not craving chocolate after Monday nights oops!

Allergic to hazelnuts... say it isn't so. That's sad. I'm allergic to pistachios, which is bad enough, but hazelnuts and chocolate??? They're BFFS!
ReplyDeleteMy husband made a double chocolate chili ice cream this summer. Delicious -- though a little bit goes a long way! :)
