Glitches along the way
**sigh**
Seriously, could this day get any more entertaining?
Today was supposed to be a quiet lazy Saturday .
One where I read my book, compiled my menu for the following week.
Organized my shopping list so I didn't wander aimlessly around the grocery store.
But, That apparently was not in my cards.
Instead, I managed to squeak in 2 loads of laundry and had a shower with Punky before I had the surprise of my life when we went to take our van in for service earlier this morning.
To say I am pi$$ed {Pardon the language} would be an understatement.
When you take a vehicle in for service you expect that the price quoted would be right around where they said it was.
Not doubled.
**sigh**
Apparently, that is not the case so, instead of paying $600.00 for our service {which in my opinion was overpriced} we are looking at almost double making the final total $1100.
Without going back dow that road with what happened and how that all transpired {because I know its going to make my blood boil}
again.
The mechanic that was working on my van "broke" a part while attempting to put on a new belt leaving our van un-drivable thus leaving us in a bind and the proud owners of a whopper of a bill.
I.AM.NOT.paying that bill.
Not going to happen my friends.
So, we left it parked at the dealership.
We will attempt to clean that mess up on Monday with the manager.
Really, what would you do?
What should we have done?
**shakes head**
Which means my menu is late. {not that it's an excuse}
I didn't get to the grocery store or the farmers market or really anywhere.
I started working on it though...so at least I have something to build on in the morning. Right? That's better than nothing... right?
But, on a happier note.
We did have a BBQ with friends & are now watching the UFC fights.
Maybe tomorrow will work out more in my favor.
But for now, I am just going to sit on the couch.
Nurse a "Stella Artois" and forget.
If I can..
I don't know if we did the right thing or not..
If you were in our shoes,
What would you have done with a careless mechanic and an outrageous bill?
Would you pay?
Or park it like we did?
I would love to hear how you {or someone you know} has handled this particular situation.
