A day like today

I need to pull out all the stops

For the past three nights we have been fighting to get Punky to bed.
Normally she sleepily waves "na night" allowing you to whisk her upstairs into pj's and sleep sack before tucking her happily into her crib with her woobie & bottle.
The past few nights she cries and screams.

For what feels like hours if you let her.
As a mother it is both heartbreaking & uber frustrating all at the same time.
Last night we gave up and let her cry it out.
Escaping to the basement so we wouldn't hear her.  She was that upset.
She did fall asleep and when I checked her she was snoring peacefully.
Around 1:30 she was up needing more advil for her teeth & a drink of milk.
Back into bed she went then just moment later Mr.D was in needing advil for his "aching feet"
Curse you fifth disease!!
By the time they both were settled into bed I finally crawled back under my own covers.
It feels like I didn't even have a chance to fall back asleep before she was squawking in her crib around 6:00a.m.
Dragging myself out of bed I picked her out of her crib and we headed down to the kitchen for another bottle.
She refused to take it.
Placing her "bubba" back in her hands a second time she promptly threw it onto the kitchen floor.
**sigh**
Back up the stairs I sleepily trudged to her bedroom.
Tucking her back into her crib  I turned to leave when she threw both her bottle and her blanket out of her crib.
**sigh**
I picked her up and took her out to the bonus room.
Locking the baby gate so she couldn't roam the house I snuggled up on the couch with a big fluffy blanket  attempting to doze.
Foolishly I had hoped that she would play with her toys.
In the dark.

Instead she smashed me on the head with her shape sorter, poked me in the nose with her bottle and {her favorite }crawled all over me pulling my hair, taking the covers off of me.
I gave up and went downstairs to fix me a rather large cup of coffee and to get her some breakfast.
She hasn't stopped all morning.
At breakfast she would feed herself a cheerio then feed one to the floor.
She also fed the floor her blueberries and smeared her strawberries all over her hands, her face, the tray of the high chair and tossed what remained on the floor.
Numerous times she has opened up the freezer to snag an ice cube leaving wet spots on the floor, the couch and in my slippers.
She has dragged almost the entire shoe population out of our front hallway and has either tried to wear them or has just left them scattered around the kitchen.
She emptied out the hat/mitten drawer not once but at least a dozen times before she found a hat she was interested in playing with.
Plunking it onto her head she turned facing me and pursing her lips she "whistled"
 {sounds more like ooot ooot}
encouraging me to whistle back at her.

She also has helped herself to some mini oranges and doesn't seem to mind if they aren't pealed.

I tried to put her down for a nap an hour ago but she climbed/fell out of her crib.
First-time for that too.
It's going to be a long morning.
I sure hope she will be read to nap when nap time rolls around!
