There and back again...

  Had you wondering if I got lost on a geocaching excursion didn't you?

Nope! 

As fun and as frustrating as that can be that's not what we were up to...

Tofino is famous for rest and relaxation so we indulged in it.

We were soaking up all that wonderful sea air while the chance was there.

There is so much to do on the island that there was no way we would have been able to see and do everything in the short time we were there but we tried.

We enjoyed a lush tree lined drive down to Grice Bay,

walked the shores of Combers Beach & Long beach plus we explored Cox Bay almost every day except the very last one due to high tide. 

I'm sure we walked over 7 km exploring long beach from incinerator rock (which I still don't know why they called it that).

On our way  we peeked into Cathedral grove  {it was raining just like it was when we passed it the first time} then we walked the streets of downtown victoria before we made our way back to the airport for our trip home.

There and back again...

  Our Mystery Anniversary trip was amazing!

And now, "back to real life"

A room with a view

Our Home away from home for the next few days.
We arrived yesterday afternoon after an short 1h22min flight into Victoria.
Our first stop was the beautiful
Butchart gardens
The only time I didn't actually mind walking around while it sprinkled rain.
My favorite was the sunken garden pictured below.
The aromas were heavenly.. **happy sigh**
We are in such a beautiful spot the rain doesn't bother me.



Back in the car for a 5 hour jaunt down the island highway with all the crazy twists and turns up & down the side of the mountain.
The trip in theory shouldn't take that long but the speeds change from 60 down to 60 kph down to 50 kph back up to 60 kph down to 30kph {you get the idea}
Nestled behind the trees is our little home away from home.
I never expected we were going to be staying here.

We slept with the screen door open so we were lulled to sleep by the ocean.
This place is amazing!!
After a quick breakfast we went down to the beach to go exploring...
The tide is out exposing so much we didn't get to see yesterday.

Well, more adventure awaits.
We are headed out for lunch then whale watching!!
I'm having so much fun :0)
