What would life look like if it didn't look like this?
Maybe, it's just not that simple.
I have caught myself thinking ahead to what our schedule might look like come September (already) and if the programs we have had our children in will look the same or not. I'm starting to think things are going to look much different.
But I am not really sure what that picture will look like.
Some constants like bible study and youth group will stay but everything else is up for discussion.
Last september We put Giggles into ballet because her older sister is a dancer and giggles showed interest in ballet.
{read "I want to wear a tutu and spin around and around all day long}
We were so excited to pick out her blush pink bodysuit with matching tights and slippers.
The first few classes went well then something changed.
Instead of wanting to go she was making up excuses as to why she didn't need to go.
Her tummy hurt, she couldn't find her shoes or her body suit.
She hated it.
Hated it!
We fought her ever saturday morning just to get her to go to class because I believe that if you start something you need to finish it.
Mr.d was the exact same way with soccer. *sigh*
(both indoors and outdoors)
Making commitments to a team is a lot harder when they need the players or the game will be forfeited. *sigh* so, when he asked to go into outdoor soccer I was a little hesitant and rightly so. His attendance wasn't any better in outdoor soccer either.
Something has to change.
I want my children in program's that will enhance and enrich their lives.
Not bore them silly.
I want to see them challenged and find "that" one thing they are passionate about.
Whether it be climbing or skateboarding or art classes.
But soccer and dance just aren't making the cut.
Now to figure out exactly what drives my children....
