Adventurous returns!

On the road again (ok, admit it, you were humming the song too)
Wozza...twisty turny roads + one sore ear= one sick little boy.
Our water baby ended up with a wicked ear infection so our ride home was a bit more adventurous than we had anticipated.
The scenery was amazing as we traveled highway 93 but I spent most of it looking through the rear view mirror to make sure our sick little guy actually got the barf bucket (he did) so I missed most of it. I thought I saw the back part of a black bear scooting into the trees but I am not sure and we never did see any wolves even though the sign said there were some in the area.
We had hoped that once we got on the straight roads he would stop but it didn't happen.
We also left the warm sunshine for this...

Crazy eh.
Our excursion home we went through 3 separate sever thunder storm warnings but only got caught in the first one.
I have never seen so much traffic pulled off to the side of the road before or slow down to almost a crawl like it did as we passed through Airdrie. The heavens opened up and it poured and hailed so much it looked like snow on the ground! I tried to get a picture but it was really blurry.
As soon as we got home I took Mr.D to the doctor's and it was confirmed that yes, he does have yet another ear infection.
Which set off a few days of doctor visits.
Seriously, I wish I was kidding, with the amount of time I have spent there I am wondering if perhaps I should have been a nurse!
Friday: initial visit to confirm inner ear infection and received wicked nasty medication that I almost have to bribe him to take.
Saturday: blood test to check for bacterial infection (still have not heard results)
PhotobucketConsidering this was his first blood test ever I didn't really know what to expect and was wondering if he might start to cry but he surprise me and watched the entire procedure and didn't cry!!
Sunday: Punky goes on an exploration trip behind the couch and gets stuck between the sofa and the magazine rack. She backs out and does this:

Off to emerg where initially they were going to sedate her and stitch the toe.
Instead they glue it and then apply surgical tape to seal her wound.
Monday: Back we go with Mr. D as we feel he is not responding to his antibiotics.
He is now diagnosed with swimmers ear (big surprise!!) so we leave with a new prescription but he still has to take the wicked nasty stuff.
Tuesday: back to visit our family doctor's with Punky to see what needs to be done to close her wound. Guess we shall have to wait and see!

See you next time!

**updated**
When I took punky to the doctors it was decided that the gaping cut would be closed again with more tissue glue and tape hoping that it would remain closed. It didn't so this afternoon we went back to the hospital expecting stitches. Thankfully the doctor ruled against that and we just got her re-bandaged. Oi!

  1. Your travels sound like ours! :)
We've had broken bones, allergic reactions to seafood, and strep throat... among other things. Such things won't keep us home. That's for sure!

    Happy Travels
